This afternoon I buttoned all 4 buttons on my coat. Winter is so close.

How strange to have a crush again, on a popstar who once I crushed upon, circa 1983. That’s the picture I had hanging on my bedroom wall, yes. I was taken by his music and his voice as much as by his foofy hair and the fact that he wore ladies earrings, one in each ear. Those sorts of things mattered back then.

I never get crushes anymore, but here I am.
Scritti Politti’s new album is lovely. I’m totally charmed by “Cooking” and “Dr. Abernathy”. Crazy sweet harmonics, little bits of a cappella, little quirky bits of synth, little glasses of gin.

I’m pondering squash and apple crisp for Thanksgiving.
